We are looking for a Desktop Support Technicianinterested in starting a SWEET career as part of our IT team at PIM’s Headquarters in Park Ridge.

The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for PC workstation and peripheral set-ups, deployment, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of incidents and problems. This person will collaborate with internal customers, including faculty and staff, to develop and deploy solutions to solve customer needs and requests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor helpdesk ticket queue and participate in ticket resolution in a prompt and professional manner

  • Provide support to onsite and remote PIM Brands users relating to both hardware and software problems

  • Configure, deploy and support various endpoint devices, such as PCs, laptops, printers, barcode scanners and cell phones throughout the Park Ridge location

  • Assist in performing necessary upgrades and configurations to support business growth

  • Thoroughly document issues, as well as the analysis and design required for resolution, and contribute to the department knowledge base as appropriate

  • Assist other IT team members in project work where needed

  • Provide both oral and written status updates to management

  • Demonstrate an enthusiastic customer service-focused approach, partnering with business units in a positive, can-do manner

  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Work outside of normal business hours may be required, based on project requirements or urgent business needs

  • Lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related areas of study, or equivalent work experience strongly preferred

  • 3+ years of experience supporting Windows operating systems in an enterprise/corporate environment preferred

  • Experience supporting iOS mobile devices required

  • Experience with Office 365, SAP, Active Directory and SharePoint preferred

  • Experience supporting Macs is a plus

  • Self-directed with an ability to work both independently and cross-functionally

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-IT associates, in a positive and constructive manner

  • Superior written, oral communication and presentation skills with experience communicating effectively with all levels of management; ability to document ideas concisely and quickly

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow up independently

  • In-depth knowledge of support methodologies and principles

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong desire to learn new systems and technologies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Ability and drive to work on multiple projects at a time and potentially switch projects as necessary, maintaining a strong quality focus on each

  • Ability to work independently and make timely decisions in alignment with business goals

  • Ability to take ownership of an issue or project and the dedication to see it through to completion

    Worksite:

  • The PIM Brands Global Headquarters in Park Ridge, New Jersey

  • The role requires working on-site: Monday thru Thursday. Work from home/remotely on Fridays on a biweekly basis

  • Possible travel to our Somerset, NJ location for coverage when necessary
