Job Description:
The laboratory supervisor oversees operations of the technical sections(s). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; managing staff and workflows, maintaining policies and procedures, performing staff competency assessments, monitoring statistics and test utilization, fiscal responsibility, complying with regulatory standards and maintaining accreditation, and human resource management according to Essentia Health guidelines. This individual requires excellent customer service and team working skills to promote positive relationships with patients, coworkers, departments and others. The laboratory supervisor will work with other departments and committees to maintain a high level of care while promoting the mission and vision of Essentia Health. Some supervisors may also manage radiology department, if applicable. Meets Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing. Work Experience:2 years of previous experience in a hospital or clinic laboratory.
Education Qualifications:
Graduate of a four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory science (MLS).
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Current American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)or equivalent certification
Maintains licensure as per state requirement
