Overview
As our Administrative Assistant at CHI St. Joseph's Health Hospice Care, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll be a vital part of our office team, supporting our Director and staff to keep things running smoothly. Your success in this role stems from your ability to be kind and personable, while still maintaining your work output. You will take hospice calls, greet visitors, and attend meetings with everyone from nurses to Home Health Aides.
You'll do a lot of work in various Google programs: Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Calendar, to name a few. You'll also handle sensitive information, so you know that confidentiality is a must. And while our environment can get very busy at times, you'll stay calm and work through it, knowing the whole team is here to help if you have an issue.

Responsibilities
Provides assistance to Director, preserving the confidential nature of items of which he/she has knowledge.
Performs secretarial and clerical duties to support hospice agency including maintaining the medical records, forms, supplies, postage and general office condition in an orderly manner.
Handles all correspondence for the hospice organization.
Coordinates meeting schedules and maintains minutes of meetings as directed.
Responsible for the admission packets and the scanning of all documents.
Answers telephone inquiries and channels them appropriately.
As necessary, sends physician's orders for signature. Keeps current log of what is sent and tracks receipt of signed document.
Closes patient’s clinical record and ensures discharge summaries are routed to doctor upon client discharge.
Assists with work orders for hospice equipment and building maintenance.
Assists with patient scheduling, notifies HHA's of weekly schedules and notifies facilities of HHA schedules.
Assist with maintaining staffing schedule
Assists with patient admissions and runs reports out of clinical software as assigned.
Assists updating the kronos timekeeping system for staff payroll needs.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required.
Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
Preferred:
Two (2) year degree or equivalent experience in word processing, google docs and computer skills.
Previous home care or hospice experience
Pay Range
$15.56 - $21.40 /hour
