Position Description

The Naval Graphic Designer will support a high-profile and challenging project for the U.S. Navy. You will develop graphics and electronic design elements in support of engaging training. You will work under general supervision, reporting to a supervisor or manager.

Previous Navy or other military experience is highly desired. A great deal of creativity and latitude is expected.

In this role, you will:

  • Creating illustrations, infographics, videos, and interactive elements for e-learning and classroom-based training products.

  • Use computer graphic tools like the Adobe Cloud Suite to produce online visual media for eLearning presentations in 2D and 3D styles.

  • Translate storyboard content into the desired media.

  • Collaborating with Instructional System Designers and other Multimedia Artists

  • Working with other team members to determine style, standards, scenes, and focus points on individual aspects to reinforce screen text and to develop or customize branding and other standardized training templates.

  • Assist with developing and adhering to an established style guide for art assets.

  • Use project management tools for tasking and workflow.

  • Attending and participating in team meetings

  • Conduct quality assurance checks and peer reviews on team members' products.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • U.S. Citizen.

  • Active NACI clearance.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience OR Master's and 6+ years of experience.

  • Proficient in the Creative Suite Master Collection (i.e., After Effects, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).

  • Proficient with video and audio editing.

  • Proficiency in traditional illustration techniques, including but not limited to perspective, composition, and layout.

  • Possess proficiency in multiple illustration styles and techniques.

  • Experience with creating and manipulating vector graphics.

  • Good collaborative and communication skills, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to eLearning development.

  • Familiar with techniques to digitally photograph items and scenes as required.

  • Ability to travel 25% as requested.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience designing from storyboards.

  • Experience with multimedia authoring tools like Articulate Storyline.

  • Experience in animation and simple gamification. Knowledge and experience with Adobe Animate After Effects are a plus.

  • Experience with 3D modeling in Maya or similar.

  • Experience working in Agile teams with process management tools like Jira.
