Job Overview: We are seeking a high-energy and motivated team player to implement and assist activities for our tooling and automated systems in support of our integrated assembly line. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing or mechanical engineering and will be responsible for coordinating design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures, developing manufacturing processes, and managing all phases of projects.

Duties Include:

  • Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external

  • Regular travel to suppliers to review tool status and progress

  • Development and execution of test plans

  • Evaluation and development of process improvements

  • Assisting the Product Development Team with new product designs to ensure manufacturability and validate process/technology

  • Developing manufacturing processes, plans, and procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment in support of our process work instructions and visual aids

  • Managing all phases of the project: design, documentation, fabrication, assembly, and validation

Core Competencies:

  1. Manufacturing Methods

  2. Knowledge of manufacturing methods and fabrication processes, including forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, and machines/machine tools

  3. Understanding of cutting tools and fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, and data acquisition and control systems

  4. Project Management

  5. Successful project management and leadership experience

  6. Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external

  7. Computer-Aided Design Tools

  8. Basic knowledge of computer-aided design tools and systems, including CAD/CAM, CATIA, Mentor Graphics, and Unigraphics

  9. Ability to manipulate data sets, compare CATIA to measurement data, and create stereo lithography files

  10. Engineering Drawings & Specs

  11. Basic ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  12. Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or mechanical engineering

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to travel regularly to supplier sites

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Active or past security clearance, demonstrating eligibility to work on sensitive aerospace and defense projects

  • Previous military experience, providing firsthand knowledge of aerospace operations and requirements

  • Degree from an ABET accredited institution

  • Experience working with industry leaders such as Boeing, Airbus, Collins Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, Rockwell Collins, Raytheon, Honeywell, Blue Origin, Northrop Grumman, ULA, NASA, or similar organizations, indicating familiarity with industry standards, processes, and best practices

  • Mechanical Engineers: Design and analyze mechanical systems and components for aircraft and aerospace vehicles, ensuring reliability and performance.

  • Electrical Engineers: Develop electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and avionics equipment for aircraft, drones, and satellite systems.

  • Design Engineers: Utilize CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, or AutoCAD to create detailed designs and specifications for aerospace components and structures.

  • Manufacturing Engineers: Optimize manufacturing processes and production workflows using software programs such as CAMWorks or Mastercam.

  • Avionics Engineers: Design, integrate, and test avionics systems and software using tools like LabVIEW or MATLAB/Simulink.

  • Systems Engineers: Application of systems engineering principles to design, integrate, and manage complex aerospace systems, ensuring overall system functionality, performance, and safety throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Payload Engineers: Develop payload systems and instruments for satellites, drones, and other aerospace platforms, utilizing design and simulation software.

  • Test Engineers: Plan and execute test programs using test software programs like National Instruments TestStand or Agilent ADS.

  • Structural Engineers: Analyze and design aircraft structures, airframes, and components using finite element analysis (FEA) software such as ANSYS or NASTRAN.

  • Quality Engineers: Implement quality control measures and inspection protocols using software programs for statistical analysis and quality management.

  • Stress Engineers: Perform structural assessments using engineering analysis software to evaluate the strength and durability of aerospace structures and components.

  • Mass Properties Engineers: Analyze and manage the mass properties of aerospace vehicles, including weight, balance, and center of gravity, ensuring optimal performance and stability during flight.

  • Materials Engineers: Select, test, and characterize advanced materials for aerospace components and structures, ensuring optimal performance and durability.

  • Propulsion Engineers: Design, analyze, and optimize propulsion systems for aircraft and spacecraft, ensuring efficient and reliable propulsion performance.

  • Engineering Management and Administration: Lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex aerospace projects, ensuring project success and adherence to budget and schedule.

Pay Details: $42.39 to $52.99 per hour
