POSITION SUMMARY
This position directs the sales and marketing focus to generate hotel room for local hotels partners by generating, conference, convention, exhibition and trade show business through effective outside sales and marketing efforts and directs all activities pertaining to the booking of local events, food & beverage functions, consumer shows, etc. and works with other departments to coordinate and enhance our guest experience by providing a seamless experience during all stages of the client’s event.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES
General
Direct the development and implementation of organizational goals and priorities relating to sales and marketing operations in compliance with State and Federal law, and ASM Global policies and procedures.
Supervise staff in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws including interviewing and hiring; training; planning, assigning and directing work and performance planning and concerns.
Investigates, analyzes and resolves problems and concerns.
Sales & Marketing
Develop and implement sales and marketing plans to ensure that facility revenue and destination room-night goals are met.
Effectively manage efforts to meet personal sales goals in territory or territories as assigned.
Lead and manage the sales team in the implementation and performance of the sales and marketing plans.
Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Guides preparation of sales activity reports and presents to executive management.
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
Develops and maintains effective policies, procedures and standards for all sales and marketing operations.
Develops sales initiatives and programs to enhance productivity.
Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Represents company at trade association meetings and corporate events to promote product.
Meets with key clients, assisting Sales Managers with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Coordinates liaison between sales and event services departments and other related units.
Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and publications.
Oversees preparation of periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotas and plans to determine effectiveness.

Promotes and fulfills ASM Global goals and service standards.
Participates in safety programs to achieve safety goals.
Assists the department and organization with various projects and special assignments as needed.
Performs other assigned duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
A bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business or closely related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years previous sales experience working in a hospitality related environment, preferably in a hotel or convention center environment is preferred.
Experience in contract negotiation, business law, purchasing procedures and supervising personnel.
Technology
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with an automated sales/event booking system is preferred.

Salary Range Beginning at: $125,000 to $156,000 DOE
