Job Summary
Responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a complex project or projects on time and budget. Ensure design compliance with all project requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and possibly manage all engineering efforts for a highly complex project or projects on time and budget
Ensure design compliance with all project requirements
Review customer specifications and requirements, and manage a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
Participate heavily in preparation of the highly complex and significant proposals
Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress
Lead and may manage a project team or teams as assigned
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
Mentor and coach less experienced engineers
Other duties as assigned
Job Responsibilities Part II
Provide leadership to program or project team. Assures communication and cooperation among team members and resolves areas of conflict
Ensure a timely closeout of completed programs to ensure that all obligations are satisfied, and program documentation is properly recorded.
Understand and develop leading verses lagging indicators
Develop and execute program corrective action strategies
May partner with various stakeholders on planning process and system improvements
Develop and understand principles of program planning. Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields
Develop and understand cash flow management principles
Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 15 years of experience
Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge
Electronic Warfare systems definition and development.
Electronic Support / Direction Finding systems development.
Tactical systems development, verification, and fielding.
Embedded Systems design and development.
Design for Manufacturing / Design for Test
High level of knowledge and experience in multiple engineering disciplines enough to lead engineers on the project team
Ability to lead and possibly will manage a team of engineers to complete a highly complex project or projects
