Systems Engineer
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Systems Engineer to join our onsite IT team. This role will require a dedicated individual with exceptional problem-solving skills, a commitment to high-level customer service, and the ability to support diverse IT needs, ranging from hardware and software troubleshooting to managing computers tied to manufacturing equipment processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, be comfortable navigating a corporate IT structure, and demonstrate a proactive approach to challenges, including identifying and implementing technology-driven solutions to automate manual processes.
This position is full-time, onsite, and requires occasional after-hours and weekend availability to address critical issues. Applicants with a degree or at least 5 years of relevant experience may apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support:
Provide exceptional support to internal customers, ensuring timely resolution of hardware and software issues
Act as the primary point of contact for onsite IT needs, delivering clear and professional communication
Hardware and Software Support :
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues across a variety of hardware and software platforms
Install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, and other IT equipment
Manufacturing IT Support:
Support and maintain computers and systems managing manufacturing equipment processes
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless operation of IT-related processes
Systems Administration:
Maintain and update systems and applications, ensuring they align with corporate IT standards and best practices
Monitor system performance and implement optimizations as needed.
Process Automation and Improvement:
Analyze existing workflows to identify repetitive manual tasks and inefficiencies.
Develop and implement automation strategies using technology solutions to streamline IT operations and manufacturing processes.
Research and integrate innovative technologies to drive efficiency improvements.
Project Management:
Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, deployments, and process improvement
Document workflows, procedures, and system configurations
Flexibility and Initiative:
Step outside the general scope of responsibilities to address urgent needs or special projects
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to their implementation
Required Qualifications:
A relevant degree in Technology or at least 5 years of IT experience in manufacturing environment in lieu of a degree.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Proficiency in database maintenance and queries
Familiarity with IT systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a strong advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver outstanding customer service
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to provide after-hours and weekend support as needed
Preferred Skills:
Experience supporting manufacturing IT systems or processes
Knowledge of ERP systems or manufacturing execution systems (MES)
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Experience with process automation tools such as Power Automate, Python, or scripting languages
Work Environment:
Onsite role in a manufacturing environment, with potential exposure to factory noise and climate variations
Physical requirements include lifting IT equipment (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and standing for extended periods
