Project Staff Assistant
POWER Engineers, member of WSP, is seeking a Staff Assistant for our Overland Park, Kansas office to perform administrative tasks for engineering departments and projects. An ideal candidate would have at least 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced office/work environment, be familiar with current engineering tools/programs/software, be able to manage time efficiently and work independently as part of a team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide general office administrative and clerical support to staff in our Generation Business Unit including, but not limited to:
Book and process travel expenses
Submit purchase order requests as needed
Schedule and coordinate meetings, take meeting minutes, order and setup lunches
Assist in new employee orientation
Provide project control support including, but not limited to:
Prepare and send document transmittals, which may include maintaining a log/database
Process and quality check documents on incoming and outgoing transmittals
Review and/or format reports, specifications and other documents
Organize and maintain electronic files for project record (internal and external Clients)
Work with multiple project team members on project deliverables
Support other administrative team members with tasks as needed
Required Education/Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of relevant experience in office/work environment or engineering support
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
Ideal candidate should be a self-starter and work independently
Desired Education/Experience
Associates degree in Business Administration and/or related field experience
5+ years of relevant experience in engineering support
Experience with Bentley ProjectWise, Bluebeam and Microsoft Dynamics software
