Insight Global Mechanical Engineer in Ottawa, Ontario
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for Mechanical Engineers to join one of our Higher Education clients in Ottawa. This role starts as a 2 year-fixed-term contract that can transition into a permanent role at the conclusion of the contract.
These resources will join a growing team of engineers working on R&D labs throughout the institution. The successful candidate should possess a P.Eng license that is transferrable in Ontario. They should also possess a minimum of 10 years of experience, specifically working within a Higher Education or Healthcare environment, working with research labs, and creating labs suitable for specific equipment. In the role, the successful candidate will be working closely with decision-makers, evaluating the lab requirements, and being able to define the project and solution. This resource will be hands-on with different lab and research-grade equipment and will need to have strong problem-solving abilities. They should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.

Skills and Requirements
8+ years' experience working in Mechanical Engineering
Work experience in Public Sector; ideally Higher Education/Universities or Healthcare/Hospitals
Experience working to design, build, or optimize complex Research & Development lab
Licensed Professional Engineer (PEng)
Hands-on experience with Auto Cad or Rivet
Hands-on Experience with Wet Labs
Bilingual in French and English - LEED Certification
People Management experience null
