The Role: Xylem seeks a Field Service Technician/Pump Mechanic to join the Ottawa, Ontario team and report to the Branch Operations Manager. The job requires you to work in the field and in the shop, diagnosing and repairing centrifugal pumps from sewage pumping and lift stations for public utility, industrial, residential, and commercial building services, and agricultural settings. This will also include utilizing and understanding PLCs.

Essential Duties Include, but limited to:

  • Dissembling, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing of Flygt and other similar Xylem equipment.

  • Assist with field work encompassing mechanical/electrical start-ups

  • Also help with inventory control and shipping /receiving duties

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license – (DZ experience would be an advantage)

  • Experience repairing centrifugal pumps or mechanical equipment preferred.

  • Electrical knowledge of PLCs and electrical control panels will be a distinct benefit

  • Millwright License will be an advantage

  • Ability to operate with substantial lifting and physical work in all weather elements

  • High School Diploma – minimum requirement

  • Graduation from a community or technical college in a mechanical or electrical field preferred

  • On the job training will be provided
