General Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sr. Test Engineer with good RF experience to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products by designing and developing innovative test fixtures, implementing automated test strategies, and executing comprehensive test plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both hardware and software testing principles, experience with automation tools and frameworks, and a passion for problem-solving to join our Astronics team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Test Fixture Design

  • Design and develop custom test fixtures for various product lines

  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize fixture designs for manufacturability and functionality

  • Procure components and materials for fixture assembly

  • Test Automation

  • Develop and implement automated test scripts using programming languages

  • Maintain and enhance existing automated test suites

  • Test Execution

  • Develop comprehensive test plans based on product requirements and specifications

  • Execute manual and automated tests to verify product functionality, performance, and reliability

  • Analyze test results and identify root causes of failures

  • Process Improvements

  • Continuously evaluate and improve test processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness

  • Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, manufacturing, quality) to ensure product testability and quality

  • Provide technical support to production and customer service teams

Basic Qualifications (must have):

  • Ability to perform all the principal duties and responsibilities listed above

  • Proven track record of designing and developing test fixtures for digital and RF

  • Strong programming skills in C#, Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar languages

  • Familiarity with hardware testing equipment (e.g., RF spectrum analyzers, RF Generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies)

  • Must be US person

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with software development and writing automated test programs

  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IPC, ISO, MIL-STD)

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., MATLAB, JMP)

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in a Test Engineering role with RF as the main test characteristic.

  • 10+ years direct RF test development experience could replace educational requirements.
