NBC Universal Lead, Field Service Network Technician (CCNA Preferred) in Orlando, Florida

JOB SUMMARY:

Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department and employees. Leads the preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities within area of responsibility. Maintains tool and asset inventories. Promotes, engages in, and maintains positive working relationships with other departments in supporting department activities by performing duties assigned:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and delegates work tasks. Supports, follows, and implements TS Planning and Scheduling for the RSFSE Team. Delegates work assignments among qualified team members. Communicates performance expectations in an effort to ensure proper completion of tasks; provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement.

  • Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs; reports or corrects non-compliance. Monitors employee’s productivity, work habits. Leads work startup and stoppage, schedules breaks. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment and other UO property. Maintains material inventories. Monitors compliance with wardrobe/grooming standards, driving policy, radio usage, and other UO policies.

  • Performs job duties as described in non-lead job description. Maintains and shares job knowledge, assists in developing employees. Actively seeks and participates in learning opportunities in Network Administration and Security consisting of training classes and hands on training experiences with discipline other than own.

  • Communicates and coordinates with other departments or disciplines as needed. Communicates resource needs and work plans to Supervision. Provides two-way communications between work team, supervisor, and other management and HR personnel.

  • Ensures proper completion of documentation. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation.

  • Assists with training new and current employees. Assigns who will provide daily training.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED is required;

  • Technical school certification and/or an associate degree is preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • 6+ years troubleshooting and repair of complex information technology network equipment, including advanced knowledge in the set-up and ongoing maintenance of network systems.

  • 1+ year providing work direction preferred. Computer experience with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Linux Systems, Cisco Systems, C+, and Visual Basic preferred.

  • Experience in designing and integration of various network systems including IP networks required;

  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching preferred.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Completion of orientation checklist into CMMS system required; applicable regulatory training including confined space, forklift, High Reach and Lock Out Tag Out required. Must be able to obtain RSN “User” status within 6 months. Must obtain within 12 months and maintain after that, “Power User” at all venues.
