JOB SUMMARY

Overview: A Kolter Hospitality General Manager delivers service excellence to guests and team members by managing the property to ensure efficient and profitable operations. This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance, asset protection, guest service, sales, food and beverage, accounting and human resources.

Performance Expectations:

  • Ensure Company and brand standards of operations are strictly adhered to.

  • Ensure department heads have proper coverage through adequate staffing.

  • Create an inclusive, team member centric culture, where team members are cared for so they can be their best.

  • Spend time in the lobby during peak check in and check out hours to engage with the guests.

  • Resolve guest issues to ensure high guest satisfaction in a tactful and courteous manner.

  • Review guest service scores daily to identify areas of improvement, recognize positive achievement and implement correct action where necessary.

  • Develop the hotel’s annual budget and financial reports as needed.

  • Monitor the operation to ascertain budgeted goals are achieved.

  • Provide for continuous improvement of the property through control of capital expenditures.

  • Maintain high sanitation standards for food handling and maintenance equipment.

  • Counsel, coach, discipline and terminate as appropriate with HR review and input to ensure compliance with company policy.

  • Work with sales team to improve occupancy and REVPAR performance.

  • Participate in weekly revenue management calls.

  • Maximize productivity and minimize labor cost by analyzing trends and adjusting staff.

  • Maintain personnel and payroll files in compliance with Company policy.

  • Establish proper preventative maintenance programs in accordance with annual budget and owner’s objective.

  • Promote a safe work environment to minimize liability and expense.

  • Regularly walk the property to evaluate the hotel’s physical condition and communicate with team members.

  • Ensure property reports are completed with accurate information and are in compliance with company policy.

  • Keep abreast of governmental regulations as they relate to hotel operations and ensure hotel is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Ensure Company and brand standards of operations are strictly adhered to.

  • Report any items in need of repair.

  • Follow all safety procedures while working.

JOB REQIREMENTS

General Requirements:

  • Ability to work most weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Report to work on time and in proper uniform.

  • Knowledge and/or ability to operate a computer.

  • Successful track record in hotel management.

  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting.

  • Experience: Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in the hotel industry.

  • Education: None. Bachelor’s degree preferably hotel management or equivalent education a plus.
