JOB DESCRIPTION:An entry level position involving the study of tissue culture and transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. The project involves isolation of extracellular vesicles, fractionation of intracellular compartments, biochemical analyses, and immunolabeling/histological analyses of mouse tissue. This position will support post-doctoral fellows within the laboratory, although the highly qualified applicant will be able to develop greater research autonomy.JOB DUTIES:Animal handling.Biochemical analyses.Immunolabeling/histology of fixed tissue.Collection of data, including quantitative microscopic analyses of fixed immunolabeled tissue.General laboratory work/preparation.Cell culture.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:BA/BS in cellular and Molecular NeuroscienceExperience handling small laboratory animals.Competence in Western blot analysis and/or tissue immunolabeling/histology is helpful.Cell culture experience preferred.Experience with PCR and DNA extraction and analyses.Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements:Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
