Job Description:

• Under the PI’s guidance, the candidate will Organize and summarize online surveys and in-person experiment datasets and use econometric models to analyze and interpret research data.

• Design product/service choice experiment scenarios using appropriate statistical software for computer-simulated consumer shopping simulation experiments. Assist with eye tracking experiments in the Consumer Behavior Lab at the MREC which is equipped with the necessary hardware and software.

• Disseminate research findings through academic journal articles, extension reports (e.g., Electronic Data Information Systems reports), and technical reports written for industry stakeholders. Prepare presentations for professional and outreach meetings.

• Develop consumer and producer surveys using appropriate survey platform software (e.g., Qualtrics XM). Distribute surveys to the general public or horticultural producers to collect data on consumer preferences for horticultural goods and services.

• Review the research literature and summarize the main findings relevant to the specific research topic. Assist with research proposal development and preparation.

Expected Salary:

45,600-50,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area

Preferred Qualifications:

MS or Ph.D in agricultural economics, economics, data science or a related field.

Experience conducting scientific research, including but not limited to data analysis, proposal and publication co-authorship.

Significant writing experience and interpersonal communication skills.

Significant experience working with choice models and relevant statistical and numerical software.

Familiarity with eye tracking equipment and biometric data integration software.
