Summary of position functions: Oversees the cafeteria during assigned shift; prepares and oversees the preparation of meals. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures that serving lines are set up at the proper time for the meal period and that the food service staff are at their designated area and preparing for the mealAssists in the preparation and service of daily mealsEnsures meals are wholesome and appetizingMonitors the food service line during each meal and conducts temperature checks of each food itemMaintains inventory of food items and requests additional food as necessaryAssists in preparing weekly and monthly food service reportsAssists in cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining areaMaintains daily records of food costs and usage of foodReports any unsafe and unsanitary conditions in the kitchen/dining areaEnsures leftover foods are properly covered and storedDirects the work of students who are assigned to serve on the line and to do other work tasks in the kitchen and dining area Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
