Blount County Commission HVAC Mechanic (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Mechanic) in Oneonta, Alabama
Under the supervision of the Building Maintenance Superintendent, the employee performs routine maintenance and custodial care of assigned areas of County facilities requiring multiple skills in more than one trade (i.e., carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, and plumbing trades). Employee conducts daily facility inspections and maintains work records; performs various building and grounds general maintenance and janitorial work. Completes maintenance work order requests and records maintenance activity. The employee assists in preparing facilities for special events and performs administrative duties as required. The employee is subject to custodial care of inmates performing all aspects of County buildings and grounds maintenance. HVAC Technician Requirements and Qualifications: Minimum five years experience servicing various brands of commercial and residential HVAC equipment. EPA Section 608 certification. Certification or Associate degree from an HVAC program at a technical school is required. Possess a State-certified HVAC contractor license. Strong verbal communication skills and ability to explain complex HVAC issues with customers in a way they understand. Critical- thinker and problem solver. Possess a current and valid drivers license. Ability to work non-standard hours as needed. Ability to travel to other County locations as required.
