Description Cook (267725) Schedule: FTE 0.6, Variable This position is responsible for preparing food products utilizing basic and advanced cooking techniques, standard recipes and plating guidelines; and meeting production schedules in accordance with health, safety and sanitary procedures. This position is responsible for processing food items and ensuring proper utilization, and storage, of food and supplies within the kitchen. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and work areas throughout the shift. Participates in recipe and menu development, showcases culinary skills and products, and performs related tasks as required. Must be able to take orders directly from the customer and read, interpret and expedite customer orders in an organized and timely manner. Must be able to work under the pressure and stringent time constraints and remain calm and organized. Required Qualifications: Upon hire: National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority 4 years professional line cook experience in a full-service establishment, such as a restaurant or hotel, where the majority of the products were prepared on premises from fresh ingredients using standardized recipes 2 years elated food preparation experience AND six months Line Cook experience in a hospital setting Preferred Qualifications: Culinary degree from a college or technical school or equivalent educ/experience Why Join Providence?
