Position Title: Security Network Engineer

Department: Information Technology

Location: Oklahoma City, (on-site)

Position Overview: The Security Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and monitoring of security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. This role involves ensuring the network infrastructure is secure, compliant with industry standards, and protected against cyber threats. Additionally, the Security Network Engineer will be experienced in load balancing to ensure the efficient distribution of network traffic. The Security Network Engineer works closely with other IT staff to maintain a robust and secure network environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Security Design and Implementation:

  • Design and implement secure network solutions to enhance the network's security posture.

  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security appliances.

  • Ensure network designs comply with security policies and industry best practices.

  • Load Balancing:

  • Design, implement, and manage load balancing solutions to ensure optimal distribution of network traffic.

  • Monitor and analyze traffic patterns to optimize load balancing configurations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to load balancing and ensure high availability and reliability of network services.

  • Threat Detection and Response:

  • Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential threats.

  • Analyze security breaches to identify the root cause and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

  • Respond to security incidents and provide detailed analysis and reporting.

  • Security Audits and Compliance:

  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).

  • Develop and maintain documentation related to network security, including policies, procedures, and incident reports.

  • Network Monitoring and Performance:

  • Implement and maintain network monitoring tools to ensure the optimal performance and security of the network.

  • Analyze network performance data to identify and resolve issues proactively.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • At least 5 - 7+ years of experience in network security, including hands-on experience with load balancing solutions.
