Job Duties:

  • Prepare and support the completion of the monthly financial reviews. This could include querying databases, gathering data, maintaining existing or developing new data views.

  • Support the completion of the annual budget and long range financial forecast through maintenance or management of data coordination, documentation of assumptions, updates to supporting files, and supporting analysis.

  • Support and complete other analysis projects, including, but not limited to, management of cost allocations and generation asset upgrades or additions. Communicate across departments, develop analysis models, and thoroughly document assumptions and results.

  • Use spreadsheet, database, and other software applications to develop tools for analysis projects using appropriate technical information and skills.

  • Prepare and present finished work products in a professional manner including formal presentations and written reports. Maintain thorough documentation. Review and answer follow up questions and issues in a timely and professional fashion.

  • Ad hoc analysis and other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    Education : Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Math, Finance, Economics, or related field.

    Experience : Analyst II: 2 - 4 years in electric utility generation planning or related field including production cost modeling, load forecasting, budgeting, planning and financial forecasting, and/or systems operations.

    Analyst III: 4-6 years in electric utility generation planning or related field including production cost modeling, load forecasting, budgeting, planning and financial forecasting, and/or systems operations.

    Sr Analyst: 6+ years in electric utility generation planning or related field including production cost modeling, load forecasting, budgeting, planning and financial forecasting, and/or systems operations.

    Equivalent Experience :

    Specialized Skills :

  • Variance analysis experience preferred.

  • Requires strong Excel skills, including organization, manipulation, and analysis of large data sets. Other PC skills (Power Point and Word) a plus.

  • An understanding of several of the following is helpful: generation planning, forecasting, power system operations, production cost modeling, electric utility rate making, accounting, financial reporting.

  • Success in this position will depend on an individual's enjoyment from working in Excel, solving problems, and creating new tools for analysis and reporting.
