Robert Half Plant Controller in Ogden, Utah
Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry situated in Ogden. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing all financial activities within the plant, acting as a strategic partner to plant management, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all financial activities within the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Act as a strategic partner to plant management, contributing to medium- and long-term planning, and supporting the overall business strategy
• Monitor and control costs to ensure efficient plant operation, including analyzing cost variances, identifying opportunities for savings, and implementing cost-reducing measures
• Collaborate with plant management to align financial strategies with operational needs, working closely with production, supply chain, and engineering teams
• Ensure accurate inventory accounting and conduct regular inventory verification events, collaborating with supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs
• Plan, monitor, and authorize capital expenditures, ensuring investments align with company strategies and are accurately recorded
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and other regulatory standards, preparing for and successfully passing internal and external audits
• Lead and develop the finance team at the plant, fostering a culture of strong performance and continuous improvement
• Conduct variance analyses and provide insights into financial performance, preparing management reports and communicating financial results to both local and corporate management.
Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficient in accounting functions and accounts payable (AP)
• Demonstrable experience in annual budget preparation and execution
• Strong knowledge and experience in auditing processes
• Proven ability in handling budget processes for large scale manufacturing units
• Expertise in manufacturing cost accounting and inventory accounting
• Strong skills in financial management, including planning, forecasting, and analysis
• Solid understanding and experience in audit compliance
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, CPA or CMA preferred.
