OGDEN WEBER COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP Accounting Clerk II in OGDEN, Utah

As Accounting Clerk II, you have an immense amount of discipline for fine details, and you practice consistent follow-through in your daily work. You appreciate the clear guidelines and structure of established accounting routines and procedures including processing accounts payable and payroll transactions. You rely on your accounting background to provide recommendations for improvement in fiscal policies and procedures. We are Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP), and we are searching for a diligent and thorough Accounting Clerk II to ensure the organization's daily accounting functions run accurately, effectively, and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

What you'll need to be our Accounting Clerk II: 

·        Accommodating and analytical, while producing highly precise and accurate work

·        A highly precise worker, who remains skeptical while respecting authority

·        Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and discipline

·        High attention to detail, able to adhere to established standards, guidelines, and procedures

·        Analytical/methodical approach to working with repetitive routines

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field

  • Two years' full time work experience in accounting procedures, specifically payroll and accounts payables. 

  • Training and education may be substituted in the place of experience.

  • What you'll do as the Accounting Clerk II: 

    ·                  Exercises discretion and independent judgment in all functions of the position to comply with Federal, State, local, grantor, and OWCAP procurement laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

    ·                  Assist with maintaining a current listing of laws and regulations.

    ·                  Update and monitor fiscal policies and procedures to ensure program compliance and efficient processes; provide recommendations for improvement in processes to the Financial Controller; provide training to staff on fiscal procedures; provide periodic reports to the Finance Manager regarding status of fiscal systems.

    ·                  Accurately process accounts payables; review and verify supporting documentation that accompanies invoices/contracts and/or billings for completeness and accuracy; batch accounts payable; print checks and reports and ensure proper authorization is secured.

    ·                  Accurately process payroll; verify that all timesheets have been submitted; review time sheets for accuracy and completion; calculate and track year-round-pay; print reports; secure appropriate authorization of checks, and process direct deposit transfers, and EFT deposits; prepare payroll reports.

    ·                  Assist with preparation and submission of Federal and State payroll tax reports.

    ·                  Prepare IRS W-2 and Assist with preparation of Affordable Care Act (ACA) reports in accordance with appropriate laws, regulations, and guidelines; mail/distribute by due date.

    ·                  Review in-kind submissions for allowability, accuracy and completeness; submit reports to Fiscal Manager within timelines established by agency policy.

    ·                  Participate as integral member of the Career Development Team ensuring compliance with established agency policy and procedures in the approval of tuition assistance and training requests.

    ·                  Assist the Fiscal Manager with preparation of budgets and billing for funding sources.

    ·                  Attend assigned meetings, trainings, and seminars as necessary.

    ·                  Assist and provide back up for the Fiscal Manager, Purchasing Clerk, and Accounting Clerk I as assigned by the Financial Controller.
