Walmart Area Manager - Maintenance (grocery) in Ochelata, Oklahoma

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager - Maintenance (grocery) to oversee and manage the maintenance operations in our facility located in Ochelata, OK! The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of warehouse equipment, compliance with state and federal regulations, managing financial aspects, and supervising the maintenance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing, such as customers, suppliers, and associates.

  • Implement the business plan for the maintenance department by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals (e.g., equipment maintenance, safety compliance).

  • Monitor and manage the productivity of the maintenance department by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports.

  • Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring that associates are trained on maintenance procedures, safety regulations, and company policies. Monitor associate compliance and distribute and maintain procedures and supporting documentation.

  • Identify and address associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns related to maintenance operations by actively listening, consulting with others as needed, determining corrective action, and making recommendations for resolution.

  • Supervise and develop maintenance associates and leaders by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, and providing feedback. Teach, support, and model maintenance policies and procedures. Identify training and development needs and participate in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation processes.

  • Manage the daily operations of the maintenance department by monitoring and ensuring department performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment (e.g., material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, general building repairs). Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (i.e., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT, etc.) relating to maintenance operations.

  • Manage financial aspects of the maintenance department by monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures compared to budget. Monitor asset utilization and prepare, review, and analyze business reports related to maintenance operations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting business reports.

  • Knowledge of financial management principles and budgeting.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $50,000.00-$100,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications:Associate's Degree or Technical School Certification in an Industrial related field and 1 year related maintenance department supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Industrial, or related field OR 1 year supervisory experience in a maintenance related environment supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees OR 2 year Walmart Logistics maintenance experience including six months experience leading a work or project team (e.g. risk control) OR 2 years supervisory experience in an industrial related environment; supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees with 1 year experience in the maintenance field.
