The Senior Manager, Danaher Business System (DBS) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible f or bringing Danaher's continuous improvement system, DBS to life and optimising sustained operational performance across manufacturing, supply chain and logistics/distribution by implementation of Danaher Business System tools, methods, and philosophies. This includes focus areas in core lean conversion, reliability, and materials system tools.

You will be a part of the DBS team and report to the Senior Director / Site Lead Beckman Coulter Ireland Inc. responsible for leading all operations within the Beckman Coulter Clare site in a cost-effective, financially aware, high quality and safe manner and developing long term operational strategies, working closely with senior management to meet company objectives to yield optimal productivity and performance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a cross-functional team in Clare from a DBS perspective, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement and drive the effective implementation and consistent application of DBS principles in Clare.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director Site Lead BCII and other DBSLs to ensure the manufacturing team possesses the requisite skills and capabilities to execute DBS tools across functions in Clare consistently.

  • Collaborate closely with the Clare Site Leadership Team (SLT) to identify improvement opportunities and actively contribute to developing manufacturing strategies and provide support to the Director, Operations in improving manufacturing and supply chain performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, inventory health, and productivity.

  • Lead and organize Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement, ensuring a robust pipeline of improvement initiatives contributing to ongoing productivity enhancement, with a direct link to Policy Deployment (PD).

  • Provide / promote comprehensive DBS training programs for Associates in Clare, ensuring skill development and proficiency in relevant areas.

  • Support improvement of baseline performance relative to cost, quality, supply and responsiveness by delivering business results and promote the sharing of best practices across manufacturing plants in Beckman Coulter and Danaher.

  • Drive consistency in meeting or exceeding Improvement Targets by using DBS principles and Lead Conversion methods and practices.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 14 years’ experience OR relevant Master’s/Doctoral degree with 12+ years’ relevant experience

  • Minimum of 4-years’ experience managing people

  • Experience with Lean techniques such as Value Stream Mapping Standard Work; SMED and 5S

  • Proven track record of achieving outstanding operational results.

  • Successful history of leadership in a cross-functional, matrixed organization.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in strategic and analytical decision-making, coupled with creative problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience in supply chain management is a plus

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in management would be considered a plus.
