Actalent Food Technologist in Oakland, New Jersey
Job Title: Food TechnologistJob Description
As a Food Technologist, you will formulate both new and existing seasonings and food products based on project specifications. You will be responsible for solving technical issues vital to flavor development, food applications, or delivery systems. You will develop a deep understanding of our seasonings and processes, evaluate them, and make recommendations to the sales team according to customer requirements. Your role will involve adapting to rapidly changing priorities, managing multiple tasks, and taking direction from product developers, scientists, and supervisors. Additionally, you will identify new and replacement raw materials, develop concepts and applications based on market trends, and maintain accurate and organized project records. You will also maintain ongoing communications with customers, salespeople, and coworkers on projects.
Hard Skills
Compounding and weighing experience
Experience with lab scales, kitchen utensils, mixers, and ingredients
Ability to work accurately with calculations (ratios, decimals, percentages)
Data entry and basic PC skills, including Excel and Word
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work within a team environment and independently
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Comfort with food product preparations (baking, frying, etc.)

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

This is a fully on-site position in Oakland, New Jersey.
