Actalent Associate Food Technologist in Oakland, New Jersey

Job Description:
Formulate seasonings and food products, new or existing for customers based upon project specifications
solve technical problems essential to favor development, food applications or delivery system's
Develop knowledge seasonings and processes. Evaluate and make recommendations for seasonings to sales team based on customers requirements
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and multiple tasks, with ability to take direction from product developers, scientists, and supervisor is required.
Previous compounding and weighing experience required, with proven accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Experience with lab scales, kitchen utensils, mixers, and ingredients.
Identify new and replacement raw materials for lab utilization
Replace products, seasonings and flavors which already exist in the marketplace
Develop concepts and applications based on market trends to apply to meat, savory, and seasoning products
Ability to work accurately with calculations, such as ratios, decimals, percentages, etc., as related to seasoning formulae in a fast-paced, high-volume environment required.
Demonstrated data entry and basic PC skills, including Excel and Word required
Good communication skills, including written and verbal, required.
Proven ability to work within a team environment as well as the ability to work independently required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, food science or related science preferred.
Lab experience required.
either fresh grads or 1 year of experience
Experience in the food industry with an emphasis on meat and savory development is a plus
Shift: Monday- Friday 1st shift (Starting July they will be observing summer Fridays)
