BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to assist the Teacher in the supervision of children ages 18 months to 5 years old and to assist in the overall daily run of the classroom at Booth Memorial Childcare Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for assisting in creating a warm, orderly and clean environment to promote the development of children.
Assist in supervision of children, paying special attention to health and safety of each child.
Maintaining State Licensing Teacher child ratios of 1:4 or 1:8, daily
Responsible for assisting in the care and upkeep of equipment and supplies.
Assists in set-up and clean-up duties as required.
Willingness to take directions from the Teacher
Assist Teacher in completing all required State Licensing paperwork such as observations, assessments, DRDP, or other required paperwork.
Other Related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements
Must be at least 18 years od age and a high school graduate.
Early Childhood Educations units 6-9 required
Some experience with young children required
Child Care Center experience preferred.

Ability to interact appropriately with children

Ability to work as part of a team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
Ability to reach overhead
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
Some college or better in Child Development
High School or Equivalent or better
- 1 year: Child Care
