Kelly Engineering is actively seeking a qualified Field Service Technician to join our client's innovative team. This position is based in Oak Grove, OR. Our client is a leader in manufacturing large complex equipment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys making an impact and not feeling like just a number. This position will pay $35-$45 hourly (based on skillset, location, experience level) with spot bonuses for sales on top plus a full benefits package.

SUMMARY

To promote and secure sales of field service maintenance, service agreements and replacement parts. To accurately consult and oversee installation, start-up and on-site repair of Company equipment. To train operators, electricians and maintenance personnel on proper procedures for operation and troubleshooting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively promote and secure sales of field service and replacement parts for previously commissioned machinery, upgrades or rebuilds not requiring re-engineering design.

  • Accurately oversee and consult customer on proper installation, startup, commissioning and be an active participant through final customer acceptance testing when requested.

  • Perform onsite consulting and repairs in scope of supply as defined in work instructions, which are based on customer Purchase order.

  • Make recommendations to customer for modifications and adjustments to machinery and/or systems to ensure proper operation and performance.

  • Consult, orientate and train mill personnel on operational criteria of the equipment used, with a focus on safety, performance and preventative maintenance.

  • Consult, orientate and train mill personnel on the proper methods to identify and request replacement parts for reordering purposes.

  • Promote company’s commissioned products and service for continued operations (parts/machine upgrades/services).

  • Participate in testing and inspection of new machinery /system in manufacturing process.

  • Generate leads for equipment sales earmarking potential engineering services required for replacement machines or major system upgrades.

  • Review customers inventory to ensure adequate supply for continued operations.

  • Support sales department when requested to promote future equipment system sales.

  • Support engineering and manufacturing departments by recording deficiencies that should be reviewed for potential refinement.

  • Communicate major problems encountered in the field in a "real time" method to engineering department to ensure criteria is addressed in an appropriate fashion i.e.; product liability, performance and warranty.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of new developments, techniques, and products in the industry.

  • Maintain and provide accurate and timely reports and adhere to corporate policy.

Education and/or Experience

  • 5+ years of mechanical experience

  • Experience with customer facing roles – sales, customer service, field service, etc.

  • PLC knowledge

  • Experience traveling domestically and internationally very helpful

  • College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current Driver’s License and Valid US Passport with ability to travel both foreign and domestic up to 50% of the time.
