News Corp Australia Commercial Finance Manager in NSW, Australia

What’s the role?

This role will see you accountable for commercial support to Free News and Lifestyle with breadth of responsibility, supporting them to navigate market and financial information to create commercial value and transform financial and non-financial information into insights.

The role needs a strong partnering capability, experience supporting senior stakeholders in publishing and editorial functions, and breadth of skills across budgeting and forecasting, financial modeling, and revenue and expense management, with a particular focus on digital advertising revenue.

This role reports to the Senior Manager - Brands and Editorial

Key Responsibilities

  • Business partnering to influence the required commercial outcomes through scenario modeling and insightful analysis

  • Generation of budgets and rolling forecasts, partnering with key stakeholders Deep dives into business performance, proactively identifying risks and opportunities as they emerge, surfacing key metrics to the business

  • Support project work and development of business cases or business led initiatives as part of a cross-functional team

  • Support the wider team with the delivery of high quality reporting in-line with group finance and commercial requirements (weekly, monthly & quarterly results) including both financial and non-financial information to insights and support decision making

  • Identify and implement process improvements and generate process efficiencies

  • Functional Strategy Formation: Contribute to the formation of one or more elements of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs.

  • Information and Business Advice: Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.

Who are you?

  • CA/CPA qualified

  • 5+years experience in a similar role

  • Excellent communication skills and business partnering abilities

  • Excellent problem solver and able to make sense of complex information
