Martin Technologies Fabricator in Novi, Michigan

MARTIN is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our expanding team to support product engineering, testing, prototype and manufacturing services. As a MARTIN fabricator, you will play a crucial role in creating and refining various products supporting the automotive industry.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of fabrication and related equipment

  • Execute build activities from Bill of Materials

  • Provide updates to various project documents

  • Weld various metal parts and assemblies

  • Weld in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions

  • Build from blueprints, drawings and schematics demonstrating a "built to print" capability

  • Perform assembly and disassembly tasks with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Read, understand, and execute wiring tasks from diagrams / drawings

  • Perform installation of wiring and related components

  • Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance

  • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up

  • Adhere to safety standards and practices at all times

  • Collaborate with team members

  • Provide significant and measurable contribution

  • Collaborate with the team to improve product quality and build efficiency

    Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Fabricator

  • Willingness to take on a variety of different tasks

  • Knowledge of working characteristics of metallic materials

  • Proficient welding skills, including Aluminum MIG, TIG, and Heli arc

  • Hands-on experience with a variety of machining tools

  • Provide roller toolbox with basic hand tools for various fabrication tasks

  • Basic knowledge and experience in electrical / wiring - reading wiring diagrams, understanding circuits, general materials (low and high voltage)

  • Assembly experience - with focus on precision and quality

  • Excellent attention to detail, with a strong commitment to quality

  • Good communication skills

  • Commitment to following safety, process, procedures, written and verbal directions, document updates as required

  • Reliability

  • Certificate in Welding Technology or related field

  • CAD experience is highly desired but not required
