NBT Bank Communications Specialist in Norwich, New York

Pay Range: $58,500.00 - $76,726.00

Plan, develop and implement engaging internal communications, including both companywide and targeted communications, using a multichannel approach that leverages creativity and attention to accuracy and detail. Play an integral role in the Corporate Communications team’s efforts to promote company brands, strategies and values through internal and external communications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism or related field, and 3 years relevant experience e.g., communications, content development, journalism, etc.

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Possesses initiative, motivation and the ability to work effectively independently and as a team member

  • Knowledge of computer software and platforms that support content development activities (Adobe Creative Suite, web content management systems, etc.)

  • Ability to take quality photos and videos to support content development activities

  • Superior writing and proofreading skills

  • Solid understanding of various communication mediums and ability to write for different mediums

  • Strong oral communication and listening skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and ongoing activities simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • Aptitude for understanding topics of importance to various audiences to inform content strategy and development

Tasks Performed:

  • 30% Collaborate with business partners to develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to inform employees on topics that support the Company’s strategies, initiatives and values.

  • 30% Develop and maintain annual content plan for internal communications that captures broad content themes and breaks down plans and deliverables on a monthly and weekly basis to support strong collaboration and execution.

  • 20% Measure, analyze and report on impact of content using available analytics. Secure feedback and input from business partners and employees to inform and enhance future planning and tactical efforts.

  • 15% Coordinate the production of content is support of the full range of Corporate Communications initiatives, including internal communications, events, public relations, social media and investor/stockholder communications.

  • Secondary Tasks

  • 5% Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers

  • Stationary 75% of time or greater

  • Move Objects to Maximum 10 lbs
