Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work on site at its Northridge, CA location supporting programs for Advanced Weapons . This role requires work on cross functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop electromechanical assemblies, components, and systems for flight vehicles and special test equipment. Validates and implements design changes utilizing CAD software and PLM. Responsibilities include 3d modeling, drafting, and completion of change documentation.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering AND a minimum of five (5) years Mechanical and/or Electrical Design experience using CAD software OR a Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering AND a minimum of three (3) years Mechanical experience using CAD software.

  • Experience with at least 2 of the following items: Cable design, Special test equipment design, CCA design, PTC/Creo, Seimens Teamcenter

  • The ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with envelope drawings as it pertains to CCA design and development.

  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical components and integration within systems. (motors, sensors, actuators, etc…)

  • Experience initiating, reviewing, and/or updating design documentation and engineering drawings, engineering change orders, non-conformances, and root cause/corrective actions in the sustaining of current production.

  • Experience with cable design utilizing PTC/Creo cabling and Siemens Capital.

  • Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)

  • Experience with detailed tolerance analyses.

  • A US Gov't Secret clearance

  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5.

  • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, etc...).

  • Experience with Machining (Mill, Lathe, Router, etc...)

Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
