Blink is the result of one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns ever, growing the business at an astounding rate since the first product introduction in 2016. Now at the forefront of the consumer camera based home security market, we are seeking the right Hardware Development Lab Technician to join our team and continue this streak. Key job responsibilities
Fabrication/modification of prototypes and engineering samples
Solder fine-pitch electronic components
Use programmers/debuggers to program devices
Use off-the-shelf, and custom tools to control and evaluate product operation
Receive, stock, and replenish products
Adhere to high safety and quality standards
Keep the lab clean and safe
Follow standard operating procedures and identify opportunities for improvements
Work independently and in a team environment
Document, log, and report experiment results
A day in the life
As a hardware lab technician you will engage with an experienced, cross-disciplinary staff to build, repair, debug, test, and modify innovative consumer products. You will work closely with internal team members to contribute to, prototype fabrication, debug, and validation of current and future products. You will interact with EEs, MEs, ASIC, and SW engineers during all phases of the product lifecycle. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
About the team
The Blink HW Dev team is responsible for all hardware aspects of the devices being sold under the Blink brand, from concept to mass production. We work closely with product marketing and program management to ensure that the final design is up to our high standards.
The team is made up of talented ME's, EE's and test engineers all dedicated to getting things done correctly, quickly, and economically.
Basic Qualifications
3 years experience in a lab setting
Associates degree in a technical field (or working towards one)
ability to solder very fine-pitch electronics components
ability to use basic lab equipment such as power supplies, DVMs, o-scope.
familiarity with windows and linux operating systems
Preferred Qualifications
Solder certified for fine-pitch electronics
Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instruction
Demonstrated ability to execute tasks in a timely manner
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
Ability to learn and use internal web based tools
Experience writing/running linux based scripts
