All applicants must be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in boxes 3 & 4, page 1. Worker is needed to plant, maintain, and harvest various vegetables crops. Worker is needed to maintain and harvest fruits and berries. Workers must have a working knowledge of and ability to perform various tasks required in vegetable and berry production. Workers will perform field work including planting, transplanting, weeding, thinning, hoeing, mulching, and harvesting of vegetables and berries. Workers will sort, wash, pack and otherwise prepare various crops for storage. Workers will assist with transporting hay back to the barn from the fields and will unload and stack hay from wagons. Worker will cut brush and other vegetation in and around fields, buildings, and under fences. Worker will assist with machinery maintenance, washing, and greasing. Worker may operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to haul tools, supplies, or crops. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid drivers license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver\'s license. Worker must be able to work in various extreme weather conditions from damp and cold spring and fall days to hot and humid summer days. The work is physically demanding, requiring worker to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Worker must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Worker must be available to work 8-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm Monday through Friday. Worker may require to work on a Saturday. Worker will be given at least a 30-minute lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the worker. Worker may choose where to eat their lunch and return to work after their 30 minutes are up. The daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employers will notify workers of any change to the schedule. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the worker to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform all duties assigned. Workers must be able to take directions in simple English.
