Position Overview:

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for accurately processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Process invoices in a timely and accurate manner, verifying coding, approvals, and appropriate documentation.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a prompt and professional manner.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including filing and archiving invoices and related documents.

  • Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers, ensuring adherence to payment terms and deadlines.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and resolve invoice discrepancies.

  • Assist with month-end closing procedures, including accruals, account reconciliations, and reporting.

  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Assist with special projects and perform ad hoc analysis as needed to support the finance team.

    Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.

  • Knowledge of construction industry billing processes and procedures is a plus.
