Aerotek Assembler in North Kingstown, Rhode Island

Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

Make sub-assemblies consisting of printed circuit boards with applicable components. Assembles a completed electro-mechanical unit utilizing sub-assemblies, air tools, and miscellaneous parts.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble printed circuit boards by insertion of applicable components in through-hole fashion utilizing specific work instructions, procedures, and various hand and air tools.

  • Install sub-assemblies and miscellaneous hardware into specific unit enclosures at a final assembly level utilizing specific work instructions, procedures, and various hand and air tools.

  • Perform electrical function tests at the printed circuit board and final assembly level using test fixtures provided by electrical engineering.

  • Complete other duties as required, such as packing.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 4 months of production work experience within a manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to lift up to 26 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand at the work station for 8+ hours.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Assembler experience is a plus.

  • Electro-mechanical aptitude is desirable.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams to achieve department/production goals.

  • Strive for continuous process improvement in daily activities.

  • Ability to follow through on tasks assigned to completion.

  • High School Diploma/GED.

Work Environment

This is a very fast-paced work environment where deadlines are crucial. The basic production work area has tight quarters. Eye protection and protective shoes must be worn. No loose clothing is allowed. Shifts available are 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:00AM-3:00PM, 2nd Shift Monday-Thursday from 3:00PM to 1:30AM with potential overtime on Friday from 12:00PM to 6:00PM, and 3rd Shift Monday-Friday 10:00PM-6:00AM.
