• Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California site was established in 1947 and acquired by Meggitt in 1999. In 2019 the facility was designated as Meggitt’s Machining Center of Excellence with state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment.

• Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California manufacturing features an upgraded 110k square foot, world-class manufacturing and testing facility. The facility has been designated as a Machining Center of Excellence within the Parker Meggitt group with recent additions of state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment. We also have testing capabilities for fluid and pneumatic valves that can duplicate the high temperatures, pressures, and flow rates of modern aircraft systems. With our in-house design and development capabilities and growing product portfolio, we are in a leadership position for the next generation of high-performance aircraft engines and airframes.

• Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California facility designs and manufactures valves and controls that regulate the flow of air and fluids under pressure and high temperatures. Its pneumatic and fluid control lines include fuel, mixing, starter valves, air-oil separators, and solenoid valves used in commercial and military aircraft and aero engines. Industrial offerings provide fuel, bleed-air control valves , and ground fueling products for power generation and mechanical drives.

JOB DESIGNATION:

This is an entry-level position for a recent university graduate and will involve extensive cross-functional training to acquire skills necessary to design, develop, build, test, and validate pneumatic valves and similar products for aerospace engines and related applications. A degreed engineer from an accredited program is required and will be expected to follow direction for tasks related to the activities mentioned above. The training program will comprise on-the-job and hands-on activity for current new product development and production programs with critical products, requiring work-product output and results under time pressure.

JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement designs directed by managers and project engineers into CAD models and released drawings. Support design reviews with data and basic analysis (eg, mass properties and tolerance stacks).

• Develop test methodologies and equipment for validation of product designs. Hands-on test execution assistance under direction from managers and test technicians. Data collection, analysis, and reporting as required to support testing.

• Review fabrication (generally metal-working processes) and assembly & test operations to establish manufacturing processes under guidance from managers, manufacturing engineers, and operations personnel. Develop solutions to problems in manufacturing and work with others to implement cost-saving changes in operations. Coordinate with outside vendors on manufacturing issues as required.

• Participate in inspection operations and quality system processes as applicable to new and existing products. Implement changes and improvement under direction from managers, quality engineers, and inspectors.

• Follow up on training activities with lessons-learned documentation and recommendations for future engineering staff development.

Participate in integrated product team development activities which include all technical and operations functions.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required

Years Experience:1-2 years of relevant experience

Skills:

• Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving

• Strong knowledge of CAD and Solidworks modeling

• Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems

• Good knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering (mechanics, kinematics,thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis and electricity)

• Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $65K-$105K
