Job Description

The Parenteral and Eyecare Operations S&T organization is responsible for the technical transfer and support of marketed and pipeline injectable products. This person will generate and analyze precise, reliable, and reproducible data in a timely manner, independently or under the direction of a more senior scientific leader. This work would include support of both drug product process, analytical testing, and test method development activities. This person will also support process development lab management in partial capacity. The person is expected to demonstrate experimental precision and should possess general understanding of core disciplines supporting parenteral processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in research and development activities and applies them to manufacturing process support.

  • Productive in performing laboratory research or test method development, test method transfers, with minimal supervision.

  • Formulate conclusions and design follow-on experiments based on multidisciplinary data.

  • Initiates new areas of investigation that are scientifically meaningful, reliable, and can be incorporated directly into a research or development program.

  • Demonstrates proficiency across a wide range of relevant technologies.

  • Interpret results and draw conclusions from own multistage experiments, note significant deviations, then suggest, design, and pursue relevant experiments.

  • Understand relevant scientific literature and apply theoretical framework to solving problems within scientific discipline in a timely manner.

  • Perform routine and complex tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results.

  • Impact projects mostly through lab and/or pilot plant-based activities.

  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.

  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.

  • Applies basic computer skills (including word processing, spreadsheets, instrumentation related to corporate network systems and technical software).

  • Applies technical writing skills to produce reports and documents. Utilizes numerous analytical instruments, trains others in their operation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 7 or more years’ experience or Master’s degree or equivalent education with 3 years’ experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biology or similar area.

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.

  • Possess sound theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.   • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​

Salary: $80,500 - $153,000
