Job Description
This position is responsible for identifying and implementing the strategic approach for the Global Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) auditing program to minimize risk to employees, operations, and the environments in which AbbVie operates. This includes providing oversight and direction related to compliance with EHS external regulations and internal policies/procedures worldwide and directly leading the development, implementation, execution, and communication of strategies and programs for EHS Auditing. This position is also responsible for Global EHS data intelligence, which supports strategic business objectives and external disclosures, enhancing stakeholder perception through precise and transparent reporting.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the Global Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Auditing Programs, which include the following programs: global EHS Audits, PEER Reviews, and Third-Party EHS Data Assurance Audits. Conduct program assessments to ensure regulatory and internal compliance and consistency of program implementation.
Develop best-in-class EHS audit practices, framework, approach, policies, and programs to enhance EHS compliance by working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Manage Global EHS Data Intelligence for Global EHS, including metrics maintenance and reporting, validating site data, open/closed action plans, audit finding trends, etc.
Subject matter expert or Lead for identified Global EHS Management and Technical Standards such as, but not limited to, Self-Assessment and EHS Assurance Review.
Participate as a reviewer of new/revised Global EHS Management and Technical Standards to verify auditability of document.
Identify and execute projects on Global Strategic Long Range Plan efficiently according to schedule and budget.
Anticipate future trends, obstacles, and barriers as they relate to required technical expertise and develop/implement strategies to address them.
This role can be seated near an Abbvie location in the United States or Puerto Rico.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (EHS Related, Engineering) plus 10+ years of EHS-related experience or Master’s Degree (EHS Related, Engineering) plus 8-10+ years of EHS-relevant experience.
EHS-relevant experience in manufacturing/R& D/Environmental preferred.
EHS or Engineering professional certification is preferred but not required.
Prior experience implementing EHS regulations and internal EHS Management/Technical Standards, conducting EHS audits, conducting incident investigations, interacting with external organizations, and managing cross-functional teams.
Ability to plan against business targets and review and approve functional area plans to achieve key and strategic business targets.
Ability to define the scope and magnitude of the problem, provide rapid and detailed assessment, coordinate response, present short- and long-term options, and develop procedures to minimize the likelihood of recurrence.
Ability to actively listen, build, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders and resolve conflict.
Ability to successfully manage projects and programs according to schedule and within approved operational budget.
Avaiability to travel domestically and internationally as per business needs (US, Puerto Rico, and Latin America).

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
