The AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team shapes the digital transformation necessary for our treatments to positively impact patients’ lives. In the role of Business Systems Consultant - HR, you’ll tackle complex challenges as you develop and diversify your professional experiences while helping others grow and develop their skills.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Partnering with leaders of our HR business units to understand their business strategy and goals in a way that you can help deliver technology solutions that help them work towards their objectives.

  • Serving as a liaison between the business and our technology teams delivering value through our systems and platforms

  • Working alongside key Human Resources team members, you will learn the business organization, strategy, goals, and priorities for the areas supported.

  • Facilitating sessions, collecting requirements and providing recommendations to meet those requirements, in support of the functional teams supported.

  • Owning the operations of the Workday HCM application including system configurations, business process workflows, custom objects, and security

  • Managing the configuration, testing, and deployment of newly released functionality that may include new modules or new functionality within Workday.

  • Developing project plans and other supporting documentation, including business requirements, user stories, business process maps, detailed functional and technical design specifications, and test plans

  • Teammate capable of working independently or in teams working alongside HR Operations, Managed Services, and/or development.

  • Brokering services cross-functional teams to achieve project goals while coordinating portfolio of solutions and interdependencies.

  • Staying up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices

  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members

  • Complying with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of functional HR platform experience or Master’s degree plus 6 years of functional HR platform experience or PhD plus 2 years of functional HR platform experience associated with the planning, procurement, delivery, management, maintenance, and effective business use of information systems

  • 5+ years’ experience with other administrative business applications and third-party systems

  • Translate business requirements into functional requirements

  • Coordinate and/or complete system testing, verification, and validation of business requirements

  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects by preparing and tracking formal project plans

  • Strong communication and persuasion skills

  • History of driving project deliverables to successful conclusion

Beneficial:

  • 2+ years knowledge of functional Workday HRIS across at least 3 modules such as: Time Tracking, Absence, Talent & Performance, HCM, or CA/UK/US Payroll

  • Direct engagement with high-level business unit executives

  • Experience with Agile software development or similar methodology

  • Prior consulting experience highly preferred

  • Experience working with a global user base

You will add your unique experience and expertise to the HR team within Operations & Enterprise Systems in Business Technology Solutions. Our team partners directly with multiple HR business units to understand their specific business processes, business drivers and business strategy. You will have the opportunity to work on global and local initiatives in addition to engaging with internal and external partners through identifying and communicating resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvements that can be enabled via technology. You will be empowered to proactively seek out strategic HR business opportunities for the application of new or existing technology capabilities while leading clients with comprehensive strategic analyses and insights to help them discover strategic uses of technology products and services.
