ASRC Federal Holding Company HVAC Mechanic in North Charleston, South Carolina
ASRC Federal Field Services are seeking a HVAC Mechanic to support the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off Spruill Avenue).
Description
Understand refrigeration cycle, diagnosing problems in the refrigeration circuit, using a manifold gauge set, pressure/ temperature chart and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance and daily trouble shooting. Perform refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging.
Able to install, repair, adjust, maintain, and trouble shoot the following equipment mini-split systems, refrigeration controls, compressors, heat pumps, split systems, package units, electric motors -- single and three phase, electric motor controls -- contactors, starters, relays, disconnects, and thermostats.
Ability to use a multi-meter and megger to read voltage, current, and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
Proficiently perform soldering and brazing.
Provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to commercial chillers and their ancillary equipment (i.e., cooling towers and air handlers; flat plate heat exchanges, motors, pumps, variable frequency drives, instrumentation and controls associated with both, including tear down and rebuild.
Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings and technical manuals on all existing HVAC systems.
Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills to include completing all company provided forms to the fullest extent possible.
Possess excellent time management skills, have the ability to multitask and perform excellent organizational skills.
Requirements:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent preferred.
Must have minimum 3 years’ experience.
Must be able to push, pull and/or lift 50 lbs.
Must possess and maintain an ASHRAE Refrigerant Certification preferred.
Must be a US or Naturalized Citizen.
Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen and physical.
Must maintain a valid drivers license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
