Robert Half Staff Accountant in North Bethesda, Maryland
Description
We are on the lookout for a meticulous and career focused Staff Accountant with robust analytical, technological, communication, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will support the Controller with accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for diverse businesses. Our company is a North Bethesda-based global private equity fund and asset management firm that handles real estate, information, and healthcare as well as a non-profit.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting
• Work with accounting in a SaaS company environment – manage subscription revenue recognition, coordinate with Sales and Customer teams, calculate key SaaS metrics (MRR, ARR, Churn Rate, etc.)
• Aid with Not-for-Profit entity accounting and financial reporting
• Review and enter invoices into Sage Intacct
• Conduct bank reconciliations, draft closing journals
• Tally credit card receipts, reconcile credit cards, and ensure charges are appropriately coded
• Maintain all accrual schedules, inclusive of interest
• Assess employee expense reports for compliance, add to Sage Intacct when necessary
• Coordinate directly with vendors to set up accounts and manage contracts
• Support with entity financial statement audits
Treasury
• Open and maintain bank and credit accounts
• Arrange wires and ACH requests, initiate online bill pay when necessary
• Manage cash flow scenarios and reporting
Reporting
• Create and manage monthly and year-end analyses and reports
Tax
• Support with US income tax preparation
Other
• Helpe in budget preparation and analysis
• Execute special projects

Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Capacity to work onsite at the North Bethesda office
• Fluent in English, ability to effectively communicate in Mandarin a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or general business major with an accounting background
• 1-2 years’ experience in Public Accounting or a accounting within a SaaS company preferable
• Exceptional MS Excel skills and ability to learn new software packages quickly (Sage Intacct; QuickBooks; MS Office; Box, DocuSign, Chargebee, etc.)
• Profound business acumen
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Robust attention to detail
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Task-orientated and highly organized to track progress across different entities/businesses
• Capacity to work in a team environment with shifting demands and deadlines
• Dependable, conscientious, high integrity, eager to learn, proactive, discrete, and friendly
