Job Description

The Capital Programs Department is responsible for designing and constructing all capital projects. As a Project Manager, you would manage a collection of capital projects, including tasks such as schedule and budget management, procurement, consultant coordination, and maintaining communication with various individuals and departments associated with each project. These projects could range from science and engineering laboratories to health care environments, academic spaces, and infrastructure repairs or upgrades. Your goal would be to complete projects on time and within budget while ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Skills and Requirements

Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field is often required. Some universities may prefer a master's degree.

Experience: Relevant experience in project management, particularly in capital projects, is essential. This could include managing construction projects, renovations, or infrastructure improvements.

Skills:

Project Management: Strong skills in planning, organizing, and executing capital projects.

Budgeting and Financial Management: Ability to manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.

Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, contractors, and team members.

Problem-Solving: Ability to address unexpected challenges during project execution.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with construction processes, building codes, and regulations.

Certifications: While not always required, certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) can enhance your qualifications. null
