Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to assist with the design of electrical, lighting, and fire alarm systems. You will prepare mechanical designs to meet client schedules, draft mechanical system designs, attend project meetings, and provide construction administration services. Additionally, you will correspond with clients for coordination and requests for information, perform field surveys of existing facilities, and occasionally travel for business needs.
Responsibilities
Assist mechanical engineers with the design of electrical, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
Prepare mechanical designs as required to meet client schedules.
Draft mechanical system designs.
Attend project meetings.
Provide construction administration services as required.
Correspond with clients for coordination and information requests.
Perform field surveys of existing facilities.
Periodic business travel required to fulfill project needs.
Essential Skills
3-5+ years of design experience. (Higher level position is available as well).
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical Engineering concentration from an ABET accredited college or university (preferred but not required).
Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office software.
EIT certification required; Professional Engineering license for higher positions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and design.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Work Environment
You will work in a hybrid schedule with 1 day remote and the rest in the office. Enjoy half days on Fridays by working four 9-hour shifts. The position requires occasional travel, about 1-2 times a month, all within the local Hampton Roads area. Most meetings with customers are virtual. Our company offers a good benefits package, including various insurances, a paternity leave package, and several holidays. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
