WR Systems Aircraft Alignment Inertial System (AIAS) Engineer in Norfolk, Virginia
Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for an Aircraft Inertial Alignment System (AIAS) Engineer to represent the Navigation Systems ISEA (In Service Engineering Activity) in the performance of Aircraft Inertial Alignment System (AIAS) repair, design, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) support, and Field Change upgrades on US Navy Ships.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
· Design/modify/repair AN/SRC-40, CV-4095, Alignment Output Boxes (AOB), antennas, and associated cables.
· Support In Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) with technical questions regarding Aircraft Inertial Alignment System ( AIAS) and ILS support.
· Conduct both dockside and at sea tests, analyze collected data and be able to identify and resolve installation, technical and procedural problems.
· Provide expertise to resolve Navigation system interface issues with other shipboard systems and assist with the development and updating of all required documentation and procedures.
· Travel to sponsors' sites as a technical representative of project, conduct field tests, interpret and evaluate field data, and serve as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
· Prepare status, progress, and final reports for projects, describing the results of field experiments and/or inspections.
· Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of project.
· Verify functionality of newly installed equipment and evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
· Continuously develop skills with new technology and systems relevant to on-going and anticipated projects.
· Maintain and continuously seek improvements to test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.
· Provide oversight and on-the-job training to lower level technicians.
· Provide input to project managers for proposals and Statements of Work.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or similar.
· Three (3)+ years of professional engineering design experience in one of the following areas:
o Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Interface protocols (I/O)
o Digital design using state-of-the art microprocessors
o Analog, power and/or Radio Frequency (RF) design.
· Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of degree depending on domain experience and contractual requirements.
