Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineer in Noida, India
Do you want to build and ship new Azure services from ground up? Does working with and contributing to Open Source Software sound exciting? The Azure Developer Experience team at Microsoft India Development Center (IDC) is hiring experienced Principal Engineers to help us build and ship new Azure services targeted to developers building applications and services in Azure. Our team mission is to make Azure the best cloud for all developers. Working with the OSS community and partner ISVs we will deliver services that expand access to open source and 3rd party technologies in the Azure cloud. We will also deliver new experiences and services that will help cloud app developers and site reliability engineers improve the reliability, efficiency, and fault tolerance of their systems. This is a rare opportunity where you get to work on a pre-V1 offering and get in on the ground floor of a new team being formed.

As a Principal Engineer, you will provide end-to-end technical leadership for a service and/or a platform sub-system. You will help the team with technology tradeoffs, long-term architecture design and partner collaboration. You will be hands-on with component design and coding and mentor others around you on best development practices and site reliability practices. You will lead others by exemplifying technical excellence, inclusiveness, teamwork, and customer focus. You will support customers in a live site, dev ops model.

Responsibilities
Lead design, development and operations for a world class Azure service or a platform sub-system, working with a set of engineers and program managers to drive planning and execution.
Partner with productmanagement, OSS community, ISV partners, customers, and other stakeholders to define requirements, scope projects and ship productsin rapid, iterative cycles
Stay up to date on industry trends around cloud native technologies, open source development and dev ops processes, leading efforts on innovation, modern design, and reliability engineering.
Support customers and livesite in a dev ops model
Build for security, privacy, scalability, reliability,and compliance
Mentor other engineers in the team
Qualifications
Required:
BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
10+ years of industry experience building and shipping software using modern programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, Go or Python
Track record of successfully leading end-to-end engineering projects from conception to delivery across multiple ship cycles
Excellent technical design, problem solving and debugging skills
Customer obsession and passion for shipping high quality products
Track record of collaborating effectively with multiple cross-functional teams across geographies
Preferred:
Experience working in a Linux environment and/or with open source projects
Experience building and shipping a large-scale cloud service is a big plus
Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Azure, AWS or GCP
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps tools and processes
Experience working with geo-distributed engineering teams and XFN partners
Experience in site-reliability engineering practices and supporting scalablelive site services
Experience growing and mentoring senior engineers
