Group Summary
The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. About the Role
This position is accountable to supervise a team of employees whose main focus is executing the company’s Manufacturing System. The Manufacturing Engineering Lead will effectively implement new and continuously improve existing manufacturing processes.
Your Responsibilities
• Responsible and accountable to lead, guide, support and provide daily direction to all staff within the department through the review of team goals and performance.
• Responsible to review the scheduling, implementation and monitoring of all department activities to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Generate new projects, create timelines and build basic business cases for projects.
• Develops and implements new processes and procedures as required to support changing business demands.
• Collect and correlate relevant data that pertains to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department, recognizing trends and continuous improvement areas.
• Promote the continuous improvement of the department and keep current with new products, processes, materials and equipment technologies.
• Conduct planned workplace inspections, as scheduled by Environmental, Health and Safety
• Active participant in the accident / incident investigation process to assist in determining root causes, corrective actions and follow-ups to ensure resolution.
• Co-ordinate new business quotes for manufacturing assembly process and direct labour costs.
• Prepare, review and perform performance appraisals for reports while maintaining confidentiality of all personnel data.
• Correct unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring all health and safety policies are followed using the Zero Harm Program.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by all members within the department.
• Facilitate and promote a work environment based on fairness and concerns for people, in accordance with the principles of the Magna Employee Charter.
• Assists in execution of Dortec’s overall strategic objectives.
• Meet all department objectives as set out by WCM / Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Your preferred qualifications
• Completion of relevant post-secondary education (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering etc) or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years’ experience leading a small or large team of engineers
• 3-5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering role
• Industry 4.0 knowledge an asset
• Strong ability to understand data and complete data analysis
• Project management experience
