Position:Food & Beverage Supervisor

Reports to:F&B Manager

FLSA Status:Exempt

Position Summary:Supervises the daily Food & Beverage operations including overall quality, service and service staff performance. The Supervisor will work daily with the staff to ensure both guest and associate satisfaction by training, coaching, developing and correcting behavior of the associates. This is a leadership position that directs the work of all hourly staff and is responsible for the overall performance of the Buffalo Grill & Lounge.

Essential Duties:

  • Executes departmental operations including food and beverage promotions, customer service and inventories.
  • Interviews, selects, trains, encourage, and facilitate the development of each employee in Food and Beverage.
  • Leads the front of the house staff in training the following: restaurant standards and customer service.
  • Assists F&B Management in monitoring labor, inventory and food handlers certifications/liquor licenses.
  • Monitors the performance of outlet service staff. Supervision duties include; delegating responsibilities, scheduling, coaching and correcting, evaluating, interviewing, training and mentoring of staff.
  • Maintains policies and procedures while adhering to HACCP, OSHA and alcoholic beverage commission guidelines.
  • Provides assistance to the F&B Management in all menu preparations, kitchen rules, service standards, cleanliness and inventory controls for F&B.
  • Ensures proper maintenance, cleaning and operation of the Buffalo Grill & Lounge and its service equipment.
  • Assists in the execution of administrative function such as reporting, forecasting, quality assurance and departmental meetings.
  • Maintains and demonstrates strong knowledge of food and beverage trends within the hospitality industry.
  • Provides direct hands-on cooking or prep work on the hot line if necessary to deliver quality, prompt food service as needed on busy events or meal periods.
  • Assists the F&B Management in all kitchen efforts, staffing and inventory controls as assigned.
  • Controls and maintains inventory of the department which includes purchasing, and creating purchase orders and maintaining an ample amount of stock to ensure supplies are available.
  • Creates and maintains employee work schedules.
  • Handles any customer and employee issues with confidence and discretion.
  • Ensures that department remains in compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and policies and procedures at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Degree in Hospitality, Business, Restaurant Management, or related field preferred.
  • Two years experience in Food & Beverage supervisory position required.
  • Experience in a high volume, quality focused establishment is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Positive interpersonal skills required.
  • Proficiency in the following software preferred; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Micros POS.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, employees, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Basic Analytical and deductive reasoning ability.
  • Must be competent in computer skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal relations skills.
  • Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
