In one of our Packaging Operator roles, as part of the Operations and Maintenance team, you will be part of a growing team that is tasked with the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our global projects and assets.

Accountabilities:
On a day-to-day basis, Packaging Operators are involved with the following activities:
Safely and efficiently operate packaging machinery and material movement equipment
Identify and implement equipment improvements to increase plant reliability
Communicate verbally in writing to operators, employees, supervisors, and others regarding the identification of problems with productivity
Perform tool preventative maintenance and keep equipment cleaning
Contribute to keeping process material records and maintain good housekeeping practices
Keep record logs of operational activities for optimal and thorough handover to other shifts
Understand and perform physical inventories
Maintain a safe work attitude and practical knowledge of industrial safety standards
Production line operations with simple equipment troubleshooting
Operate forklifts to provide support to the packaging production lines, receiving in raw materials and shipping finished product along with all assigned duties within established operational procedures
Operate a forklift safely, error free of quality defects and within planned targets
Perform duties to distribute products to applicable areas such as load/unload trucks, and support packaging lines
Understand and perform physical inventories on raw materials and finished goods
Report operational issues to supervisor and maintenance
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Previous experience working with high-speed, high-volume material handling equipment, forklift, filling bottling, canning experience is strongly preferred
Forklift and physical inventory count experience preferred
1 year experience working in a packaging plant or experience in an industrial plant or military environment
Willing to work in compact and confined spaces with or without accommodation
Possess a current and valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States Comply with all HSSE regulations, policies, standards, practices and actively participate in improving plant safety culture
Tend to emergencies, successful candidates must reside within 60 minutes of the site or be willing to relocate to within 60 minutes of the site without relocation assistance
Must be flexible to work overtime, nights, and weekends when the need arises.
Must be at least 18 years old, with a minimum High school diploma or equivalent
Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
Need to be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
Must submit to all background, medical and reference checks, including hair drug testing

Must be willing to work in a versatile, multi-skilled team environment
Prior Military experience in a relevant job function such as warehouse worker, supply, logistics and forklift operations is considered is preferred

In order to be considered, you must complete the assessment and receive a passing score, even if you have taken previous assessments. Hours, Wages & Shift:
This role does require shift work
Typical shift scheduled Monday through Friday - 8 Hours per shift
Daily and Weekend overtime may be required
Starting pay for this role is $20.48 and will increase after 90 days of employment to $22.31 with the potential for further increases once fully trained on operator positions. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
